Peach Blossom Childcare Centre is committed to develop a positive open relationship between parents and staff and support the parents in caring for their children. Good communication can prevent misperceptions and mismatched expectations, encourage improved cooperation and foster a team approach to caring for the children.
Parents are welcome to visit at any time and are invited to enjoy the program with their child. Peach Blossom will welcome parents’ contributions of ideas, time, resources and family experiences so that we can all work together as an effective team for the benefit of their child.
We may be able to help parents increase their competence and confidence in themselves as well as their pleasure in and understanding of their children. Parents can help us increase our understanding of the children and support us in caring for the children through open channels of communication.
All efforts will be made by us to maintain effective levels of communication with parents. Verbal and written forms of communication will be used to allow parents alternative ways to communicate with us. Parents are also able to e-mail us at the Centre at peachblossomchildcarecentre@gmail.com. We will check the e-mail daily. We welcome questions, feedback, or discussions of any kind that are oriented towards a positive outcome for the child(ren).
Parents are encouraged and reminded to inform us of any sickness, medications, inoculations, or contagious illnesses that the child has had in the past 24 hours as this may affect the child’s temperament at the Centre, and our interactions with the child.
Daily Contact
Verbal contact, either face-to-face or via telephone, between parents and educators is the most common form of communication between the Centre and the home. It is very important for parents and staff to share the events of the child’s day to prevent misunderstandings and ensure the best interest of the child - physically, socially, emotionally and mentally.
If you call during the day, please be aware that we may be busy with the children and may not be able to answer the phone. If you would leave a message, we will call you back as soon as possible.
Social Gatherings
As often as possible, the centre will arrange special celebrations, including Mother’s Day, Grandparent’s Day & Preschool Graduation. Parents will also be invited to classroom parties at many of the major holidays including, Christmas and new year.
